For me, it's hard to say.

I don't really have 'social issues'. I am, however, eccentric in general - and not afraid to hide that - so while my social skills are decent, my interests and personality can make things a tad distant. I am generally good at reading the moment - I just don't always care to make the appropriate response.

I can't say I'm introverted, either; I'm more of a pseudo-extrovert who gets socially fatigued quite easily. I like social interaction, I like going out with friends, I like meeting new people... but I also love spending time alone away from the world, and often the former stuff can cause me to burn out fast enough that I can seem evasive or loner-like in nature otherwise. I also tend to keep things more personal and prefer higher 'quality' relationships over quantity.
MBTI-wise, I usually get ENFP as a result.

I'm extroverted and I don't have social issues. I come here in a faint hope of getting a weeb friend, because I got to spend some time with one once and it was extra comfy, but it's rare to find somebody I get along with among weebs. It's easier among normafags but then, I can't make references to anime or memes with them and thorough my "outsider" years my humor sense turned cancerous like that.
The worst part is when you find somebody you get along with on the weebness/humor sense/meme level but then it turns out they get way too much into stuff like online dramas, are kinda austistic, clingy etc.

They're one of the only spots I've managed to forge lasting friendships at in all of /soc/.

Personally, I don't think it's either or; there are plenty of introverts and extroverts in both fields. Compared to the rest of /soc/, weebs here are definitely more introverted, but when that amounts to more of an inhibition to flash dicks and boobs, it's not necessarily a bad thing; it means you can make more friends than fuck buddies, by my experience, since fewer people have their head shoved up their urethra. Sometimes, you have to lure people out of their shells, but I'd rather do that than face yet another /soc/ slut; it's usually worth the effort.

I wonder if I should start posting a picture of myself.

Anytime I post in /soc/ threads I never get a reply. But I'm also paranoid of the kind of attention and people I'd attract by doing so.
Are looks important? Would I attract mostly shallow people if I did this?

I wouldn't recommend it; those who you would attract would probably be fairly shallow, especially if you're a grill. If you're a guy, I doubt it'd do anything but attract comments on your appearance.

I'm extremely scared of strangers. Especially if they are girls. It really sucks. I had to retype this post 3 times before getting the courage to send it.
