Sorry for the delayed response.

My ultimate answer is CONSISTENCY. Doing things right for a couple weeks, then switching back to bad habits/old ways will not get one to their goals. That's what I did for 6 or 7 years from my mid/late 20's to my early 30's. I had to day in and day out make the right choices.

For me, that consisted of cutting out most bread, pasta, and refined sugars from my diet. I also quit drinking altogether. My last drink was August 24, 2013. Also, I started going back to the gym regularly, 3-5 times a week. I based my workouts on compound movements (movements that use multiple joints) - bench press (barbell and dumbbell), pull ups, rows (dumbbell, barbell, and cable), overhead presses (dumbbell and barbell), high pulls (dumbbell, barbell, and cable), deadlifts, squats, and power cleans. I would do these exercises either 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps, 12-10-8-6-4-2-2 reps while gradually increasing the weight, or I would do 5 sets of 5 reps using a heavier weight. I would supplement these exercises with isolation movements. These are movements where only one joint is moving i.e. elbow, shoulder, knee. These exercises include, but not limited to bicep curls, tricep pressdowns, lateral/front raises, SHRUGS (I heart shrugs), legs extensions, leg curls, calf presses.

There's lots of info out there on working out. It can be overwhelming. I've been reading about it for 20 years. I've just kinda found what works for me. Please let me know if you have any questions :)

I'm doing about 70/30 cardio/weight because my main goal is to lose weight. When I do weights, I mostly do lat pulldowns, tricep pulldowns and ab crucnches. Occasioanlly leg curls and chest press.
Then I do 30 mins on the bike/25 on the treadmill.

Cutting out bread and pasta will kill me :(

btw with the weights I do 3 sets of 10 reps each, and 3-4 exercises per session. I try to go to the gym 3-4 times a week as well.

This is so tough because I find a wide range of women attractive (kind of like your own experience). All the women I've dated long term have all been brunettes. I don't know why that is, but that's how it's ended up. As for general hookups, there's pretty much an even distribution of blondes/brunettes. I think generally, I'm attracted to shorter girls. I'm 6'2" (~189cm) so I'm taller than most women, though I really like to dwarf a girl and make her feel really small. Part of it is a dominance thing, another part of it is a caretaker thing. Makes me want to protect their littleness. I wish I knew about DD/lg long ago. I think I would totally be into that. But then another part of me wants a tall, lean, athletic woman for reproduction purposes. I love large, wide set eyes and a heart shaped face, good jawline, but not too defined. Small chin and small nose is hhhhnnnnggggg. And I would be lying if I didn't say that I like girls with ridiculous hourglass shape. Like almost cartoonish, but that's just more for fantasy than practical dating purposes. Despite liking larger breasts, I will take a girl with small breasted and amazing legs/butt over a big boobied girl with a flat ass. Flat ass is almost a deal breaker.

Do you use machines or free weights? How long have you been working out? Cutting out the bread/pasta can be a gradual thing, and if you're kinda new to working out/dieting, then you should be really okay with keeping those items in there in the beginning. If anything, make sure you're adding more protein to your diet. Try adding in a protein shake in the morning and then afternoon between meals or possibly drink a protein shake with your meal after you workout.

I know you want to lose weight, but I would probably flip flop that 70/30 cardio/weights. Also, I always train weights before cardio.

Here's a sample workout that I would suggest. I'm breaking this down into push exercises, pull exercises, and legs.

>Push (Monday or whatever day you want to start on)

-Bench press (machine or free weights depending on your level of development) 4 sets of 8 reps
-Overhead Press (I recommend machine or dumbbell. I personally don't like barbell, that's me though) 4 sets of 8 reps
-Triceps Pressdowns (cable machine, varying grips) 3 sets of 12
-Front raises (dumbbells, go light!!!) 3 sets of 12-15 reps
-Treadmill - DO INTERVALS!!! Walk 1 minute, jog 1 minute alternating back and forth for 30 minutes. Seriously. Do this. Not the same, slow pace. Push yourself on the jogging. Find a good place you can complete the 30 minutes.
-No bike

Rest

>Legs (Wednesday)
-Squats or if you're not good with the technique Leg Press machine 4x8
-Lunges (hold dumbbells in each hand) 4x8, 2 sets on each side (don't pussy out on this!!!)
-Seated and/or standing calf press 4x15
-hanging knee raises (abs) 4x 8-15
-Lower back extensions 4x 8-15 depending on how strong your back is
-Intervals on treadmill, no bike

>Pull (Friday)
-Lat pulldowns/assisted pull up machine 4 sets of 8 reps
-Rows (seated cable rows, move on to more advanced rows in a couple months) 4 x 8
-High Pulls (barbell works best, but dumbbell is acceptable) 4 x 8
-bicep curls 3x12
-shrugs 4 x 15

Rest Saturday, start cycle again on Sunday. Honestly, I don't know what your schedule looks like, so this is just general idea.

Since you're trying to lose weight, you want to keep the resting period between sets to a minimum. Try no longer than 1-2 minutes. That will keep your heart rate up. Lifting almost becomes like cardio. Obviously, you may have to lessen the weight you use since you'll be resting less, but that okay.

Do this for 5-6 weeks consistently before switching anything up. Also, I cannot emphasize the importance of nutrition enough. There's lots of stuff out there to calculate ratios of carbs/fat/protein and TDEE, but I think if you add in a protein shake in the AM and the PM everyday (as in EVERY DAY), you'll see some nice results at the end of the 5 weeks.

Not sure if you're gonna see this, but im an ectomorph sitting at 150 lbs 5'7.

Ive been lifting for 11 months and feel like im not progressing as fast as i could by size and strength..any tips?
