You will be so glad you went that route in the end. I did the same thing and being near debt free is amazing.

I'm half black, grew up with a Latina mom, I lived. Just make sure you keep it moisturized. Dont relax her hair until she's old enough to make conscious decisions about her hair (or at all if you can help it). Dont pull it to tight when you put it in ponytails or braids. If its to much of a hassle just keep it on the medium/shorter length until she's old enough to help you take care of it.
