So why can't humans regenerate like worms or some reptiles?

humans are mammals, and other than having fur nad carrying their young in their womb, the other difference is that they are warm blooded.
that means that no matter the temperature outside, your body, through metabolism is maintaining a constant body temp.

While a snake has to warm their blood from an external source, or else it will get lethargic, hibernate and may eventually die.

humans have a complex metabolic process with tons of things involved.
