Practice really does make perfect here. There are a few tricks of the trade that can help you too, however be wary of relying on too many gimmicks and special cases. Also, try playing games like suduko and try to deduce solutions mentally rather than writing possible solutions and pseudo-brute forcing it. This will increase you ability to store multiple numbers in your head and think critically at the same time. There are no shortcuts, if that's what you're after. It can take years to get skilled

Dr Kawashima's (SP) Brain Training has lots of good mental math exercises. I used to have it on the DS when I was a child.

There is this game on the play store called KING OF MATH. It's got some pretty funny engrish going on BUT it is by far my most used game on my phone.

It is a flash card type game but with a time limit. Doing 10 Pemdas questions to the 5 decimal point in under 20 seconds is rough. After weeks of playing, I started to form my own tricks to figure out the answers. Highly recommend it!
