Is environmental science a meme degree?

Just my 2 bits but I've seen some weak env sci programs. They're ok, but I think you could have a more challenging degree that covers similar subjects/job fields, e.g., geological sciences (varies with uni, I know) or environmental engineering.

I'm doing an environmental science degree to do water resources science (limnology, hydrogeology, etc) in graduate school. It's a good degree if anything like that or environmental economics/law/policy is your interest from as they're growing fields. Would you rather be a wagecuck to a person or a wagecuck to a person and the planet?
