my point is he is a science populist, not a researcher. he only has 1st authorship on like 2 papers from his grad school days, and the few other papers he's on has him at like 50th author. His google scholar record shows he has mainly written books to get stupid people into science.

he has a PhD, but that's about it. He is hardly a scientist. It's unfortunate that people like him, and even worse Bill Nye, are the public faces of science.

If we had actual scientists trying to popularize science, no one would listen to them. They might call them a sperg or laugh then ask why they're getting payed to do what they do. Then call them a waste of money.
