What are the effects of supplementing thyroid on your thyroid gland? There's conflicting information, my doctor says I shouldn't have any problems going on it for 3 months and coming off if my symptoms aren't dealt with. Is supplementation a permanent thing?

thyroid supplements for hypo or hyperthyroidism are pretty common. It can be a permanent thing, but my mom has been taking hormones for hypothyroidism for my entire life without any issues
