IIRC physicists don't know much about jets or why they form, it's an unsolved mystery
Probably the same width as the black hole itself at the base, a few kilometres across.
The jets can reach several thousand lightyears out by which they will most likely become extremely wide and less focused.

Since it's emitting radiation I say a single particle/wave stream leaves the black hole.
just imagine how everything is getting crushed to a single point, it must be so light and small it can leave through the tiny "poles" of the torus which is a black hole.
