I'm looking to get into finance, not econ. Anyone have some textbook recommendations? A track to follow would be even nicer, as I have only read on non-academic book, and took one class on personal finance in high school. Thanks

one*
By one, I mean one finance book (the intelligent investor).
>>
The Talmud with diary of Anne frank reference material
>>
I'd youtube it. Warren Buffett I know has talked about which books he recommends to everyone wanting to get into it. What are you wanting to do with your knowledge?

I am currently a Math/CS double undergrad, and am looking into getting a PhD in financial computing, specifically http://exploredegrees.stanford.edu/schoolofengineering/instituteforcomputationalandmathematicalengineering/#doctoraltext , with the financial or data science track. Basically, I want to read a bunch of textbooks before applying to see if it is something I would enjoy. But I believe this is getting too close to career advice. I just want some well considered finance textbooks.

Do you want to work for a quant? Investment bank? Investment management corp? Hedge fund? Research?

Found this to start:

Quant to start, then lateral movements to management positions
>>
>>9085990
Thanks, those seem interesting to start with. I will probably need to read some books like this for the sake of understanding the jargon of the more advanced books.

Personal finance books probably wouldn't help at all then.

This link might help with what topics you can start doing research into right now as well as what books to search for that will help you learn those things

Interview with some kind of finance head hunter.
Same channel has other interviews with quant traders, algo/automated systems traders, etc.

I have notes about many resources I wouldn't even know the best place to start.
Maybe something like this https://www.forextradersdaily.com/algorithmic-trading-professionals-reaping-record-profits/ because it has a high level summary of different types of strategies and a short list of book recommendations.
You might find something useful in pic.
