Possible, but unlikely. The older you get the more fixed your IQ.

A change in IQ usually occurs starting at 10 years old and really develops between 12-14. A sub 120 IQ does not mean much since it was taken as a youth. High scoring IQs at a young age don't indicate intelligence as much as they only suggest that the person developed at an early age. In fact, high IQ adults usually take longer and at a later age to develop their high IQ. Also, you may have just a high quantitative IQ but a low IQ everywhere else. In college, your specialized classes may just use the part of your IQ you excel at.

In elementary the only way you got tested for gifted was if you outperformed so I was never chosen. I honestly felt dumb, I would write my S's backwards and got bad looks when I questioned why S's are written like 5s. Up until 6th grade I started excelling at math because I loved my teacher. I tested into the honors class but never took a test to get into gifted like a friend of mine did. Freshman year they tested everyone in English and I guess I scored well because I was placed into a gifted course my sophomore year and my English teacher held me at a higher standard when she saw our scores. I never saw the actual percentile or anything she just told me(I failed the class, kek). I was also a year younger than everyone in my grade so maybe that's why it didn't seem like I overachieved, though I was always a great tester. I don't know my IQ, the online test that was "accurate" said 141 but it's probably not that high.
