Economists in the media aren't actual academics. They are just political puppets for pushing some policy that will benefit some billionaire or another.

And unfortunately academic economists are biased as well, although in more subtle ways.

The US is supposedly gonna have a wave of Asian immigration in the upcoming decade and latino immigration will drop steadily because manual labor jobs will halt to automation and unions fighting back.
