It's an environment full of people who are cynical but don't admit it in favor of trying to make good impressions. A lot of the younger ones are concerned with personal status but lack the people skills or the decision-making ability to actually earn it. They're also easily troubled when you suggest they're wrong about something, but they'll accept any new truth if you can just provide a good source. The snowflake mentality does permeate the place, but their emotions don't rule them completely. It's alright for meeting girls with similar hobbies if you can find anyone in your age group. If you're not already a professional in the SIGs you visit, you might even learn some things. And yes, you can make some connections if you don't have many.

It's not really the place to check up with regularly if you have, y'know, friends, but it's something to explore for a while, I guess.
