Come with me on a hypothetical journey for a moment.
Lets put aside our individual beliefs on whether or not they actually do exist, and say for the sake of argument ayys are real, and have actively been visiting earth. Now they begin to give us technology that defies our current understanding of science.
Would you be willing to accept their word as gospel, or still demand proof that their technology breaks our understanding of reality?

I would not necessarily take their word for anything. But it would be really stupid to question that a race of Aliums who show up here has some technology we don't know about yet.
So if they say We 'd like to sell you a space drive," it's worth talking to them since we know they have one.
If they say "We want to sell you a perpetual motion machine,"it's fair to say 'Show me one first, then we can talk.
