Look at A. It say 5- that is because there are 5 squares; 4 small squares and 1 large one encompassing them all.
Now lets apply the same logic to B: there are 9 small squares, 4 (2x2) squares, and 1 large one encompassing them all. So 9+4+1 = 14
this is obviously what the puzzle creator intended, if you think it involves complex equations you have difficulty understanding other people's intentions and should talk to your doctor about autism
