Why is nuclear unprofitable?
>>9024288
because the word 'nuclear' scares away anti-science leftists, just like 'GMO' does

Nuclear is heavily subsidized. That's the main reason it is "cheap". Just like all other energy generation forms. The problem comes from the consumer. People are just too fucking frugal to be paying $10 per kilowatt hour. That's about how much all utility-tied energy generation would cost if none of them were subsidized.

The reasons some energy generation forms have more subsidies than others is because it is more popular.

Nuclear power projects tend to be huge and huge projects tend to fail.
Example
Olkiluoto 3 powerplant in Finland. Estimated to be 5th or 6th most expensive structure world ever built. Estimated to begin producing electricity in 2009, yet not ready, several billions of euros over budget.

Because no one invests, everyone hates us and my degree is utterly worthless.
I've wasted my life.
No one wants nuclear, because of faggots making people fear it.
THANK YOU ATOMIC AGE, YOU RUINED MY LIFE, EVEN BEFORE I WAS CONCEIVED!

Develop smaller reactors that overcome budget problems. I think the budget issues are the only valid arguments against nuclear power.

>Why is nuclear unprofitable?
Nuclear is not unprofitable. It is profitable for new people trying to start brand new energy companies. However, but is not profitable if you are Bourgeoise white person who already owns a coal or oil company and has already spent billions of dollar to create his monopoly in a huge industry that brings in trillions every year. Taking that away and starting from scratch with nuclear would mean that these people would have to earn only billions a year, not trillions. SUCH A TRAGEDY.
Basically, the answer is genocide all white people and then start nuclear/solar energy plants around the world. Easy peasy.

exactly, a small household model would be perfect
would buy 7/7
Relentless anti-nuclear regulation and regulators who slow walk permits for literally decades
There is no other solution to Nuclear than to END THE REGULATORY WALL THAT PREVENTS ITS CONSTRUCTION
Leftists deliberately undermine it at any point they can, Fossil fuels AND "Renewables" lobby against it, etc
Trump's administration is the first to reduce regulation this century, so I have high hopes for him to fix the problems.

Nuclear power plants are no more expensive than any other power plant.
It is only regulations that make it so, plus they are financed by government since no private company will pay billions overbudget/behind schedule.
Now then, if you start construction on a design that fucking sucks for whatever reason, then yea you end up delays.

It's not

In fact the South Koreans have had incredible success in the nuclear power field.
