Here's a shocker- poor families don't tend to adopt children, and so don't get included in these studies because poor, adoptive families don't really exist. Adoptive parents are almost always quite well-off, and able to provide an excellent upbringing for their children. This study was poorly designed and improperly controlled for this reason alone, because it utterly failed to take into account how adoption agencies tend to select for parents with high-SES.

Then you also have to consider that the study did not mention the size of the difference in IQ, on average or otherwise. How big was it? a difference of 2 IQ points or 10? Who's IQs are they comparing? The mother's? The father's? Both? Or an average of both?

It also claimed that there was "zero" correlation between adoptive parents' IQ and the adopted child. That's extremely unlikely, though not impossible, but what it means is that instead of having all the data points lining up 99% of the time (a decisive correlation), the data points line up 0% of the time. I call bullshit on that claim.
