Realistically speaking, what would a city under the sea cost? Not sure if this is where I should post this but I've been replaying Bioshock.
Assuming construction would start this year using technology we currently have. Windows and aesthetics would be an absolute necessity, like Ryan said, we ain't building no tub.
a lot

I guess I didn't mean a specific number but it would have to be in the trillions at least, right?

how deep would you want to go. And it would likely be in the nature of 10's of of billions.
If you want said city to self sustain with its own agragarian section and industrial portion, in the 100's of billions.

Well it costs $2.5 billion for a single submarine. So there you have a lower bound.

>cost
Who gives a fuck, the real question is how feasible is it.
Explosives would be horrible underwater since the medium is more dense meaning more forceful.

Remember also maintenance cost - corrosion would be brutal.

We don't have the technology to build underwater skyscrapers with windows.

Not too deep since the light coming from the underwater place will attract all kinds of sea creatures.
building underwater is impossible...
if even knives don't work underwater how can you expect to use hammer and nails
