Why his books don't have English translation and are pretty much unknown outside of Eastern Europe? They're very rigorous, detailed, full of examples. Why don' they get the fame they deserve?

Doesn't seem all that useful. These classical analysis texts are interesting but modern books have mostly replaced them. Both Rudins, some complex analysis, and functional analysis serves the same purpose but is more advanced. The same thing happens to a lot of French stuff, EGA is still untranslated I think.
