If you have a good grasp of econometrics and calculus you should be fine with the coursework for a masters program.
The real problem maybe the GRE, depending on how well you know english.

He's studying economics not accounting. Taxation's relationship with Economics is normally built into micro and macro classes and is not treated separately in a class of its own.
