I'm 20 and my mother is 57. Both of us have low platelet count, (her's is about 90 and mine ranges from 100-115 since 2013). My doctor is concerned, but I haven't bruised in years or noticed any other related symptoms.
I am generally healthy.
Just wondering if I should get this checked out or if it's no big deal.

In other words, are low platelets a cause of concern in humans?

Fucking platelets when will they learn

Yes they are. A little cut can generate a big hemorrhage and kill you.

Go to a hematologist.
Your platelet levels aren't low enough to produce any symptoms.
If your levels haven't changed in many years, I wouldn't be worried.

Sounds pretty low bro. Here is my blood work from the last two years to compare:
Blood cell count: 6.9
Hemoglobin: 15.9
Hematocrit: 45.3
Platelets: 234
This was in 2016. Back in 2014 when I was about 20-30 lbs lighter (at least half was muscular weight gain), they were:
Blood cell count: 5.5
Hemoglobin: 16.2
Hematocrit: 47
Platelets: 195
