ITT: Reverse engineer superpower ideas to try to explain them or expand on their effects

These have been fun before

>Try to avoid saying 'That's not possible' without explaining why, though it's still better to say 'That would have this side effect' eg. Super speed, even if your body could handle it, could have absurd effects on your ability to breath or mentally process fast enough, or even keep your eyes open due to wind resistance

Lets start big, and see if anyone feels like talking science
>Massive compression
What if you could choose a point in 3d space, and create a point of enormous compression within a small area (Say a sphere with a 1m/3ft diameter) that only lasts for a tenth of a second or so, but is an absurd amount of compression.
Hard to say what method it would accomplish this with, either centred on a single atomic point or pushing from the outside, suppose that's worth discussing

Would the massive air compression cause a resulting decompression much more dramatic than the original ability? What happens if you hit a physical object like a deskchair with it?

How do you define compression? Are you applying a uniform force toward a center point?

>> even if your body could handle it
Well if your body could handle it, wouldn't that mean you could mentally process things and breath fast enough?
>>
im with anon, is it like a cavitation bubble?
you can look up what happens because it does (in water but still)

More I mean when someone justifies super speed they only make mentions of things like muscles and maximum motor speed, they don't mention things like "Oh also your eyes are resistant to wind somehow" and that your minimum reaction time is smaller.

This is actually what I'm wondering and the point of the thread I suppose.
What kind of compression would allow a small sphere to pull towards the centre with extreme force?

>What kind of compression would allow a small sphere to pull towards the centre with extreme force?
It's thermodynamically improbable but not impossible that all particles of local substance wind up rushing toward a particular location. This would require an entropy manipulation via fine control of spatial orientations of the electrons in the local materials. This would effectively make the vacuum into a collection of particles with induced magnetic dipoles. In the case of substances with free electrons such as metals, they would experience an especially strong stress centered at the point of vacuum.

Otherwise, something with an extremely endothermic property might be able to cool the air around itself enough to where the air freezes, lowering its pressure and causing a vacuum in the local space that suctions things move toward the epicenter.

A more exotic option would be a wormhole that leads to either outer space or, even better, near a high-gravity object. The object's gravity would propagate through the wormhole, pulling in any matter through attraction. However, for compression to occur, something would need to be clogging the wormhole. For this, the space on the other side may be inside the crust of a neutron star, wherein matter sucked into the wormhole compresses into neutronium. You want this space to be very close to the surface of the neutron star, because if not, neutronium will propagate out of the wormhole and result in an immense explosion due to destabilized neutronium when the wormhole shuts. Also, the suction should only happen for a fraction of a second if you don't want to shatter an entire city, which also means that the implosive force would be immense and immediate.
