Honestly, as dumb as it sounds, because I had nothing else to study. I had to study (pressure from parents to make money). Obviously I was expected to study in a serious field. Math is the obvious choice, being the hardest (kill yourself if you think otherwise desu) field. So let's just say that I had nothing better to do, and that math makes me feel superior to brainlets. I'll realistically end up in finance and live a sad life being rich.

Not him, but you don't really get to -do- all that much math as an actuary. It's not per se harder than becoming an engineer, but it can be just as unfulfilling for certain personality types, especially if they're expecting a job centered around sophisticated, cutting edge mathematics for quantifying risk.
There are several more exams you can/should take according to your intended specialization after you become an actuary. Usually these are tied to later career advancement and often your employer will give you paid study time in or out of the work day and raises when you pass, but it's still a big comittment - especially if you devote all your free time to them - and you can kind of burn out and give them up once you're disillusioned as to what an actuary actually does.
Actuaries do report one of the highest job satisfaction ratings of any profession, though

Hmm, I have a lot of interests, so why did I choose to pursue mathematics for studying? Well here are some of my other interests:

>Computer Science

A lot of the courses involve time-consuming programming projects that are irrelevant; there are a bunch of utterly useless courses (computer ethics, technical writing, software engineering) that I'd have to take to get this degree; based off the classes I've taken, the details are often glossed over; a lot of the shit can be learned online; I could only do a minor and satisfy my interest in this area.

>Statistics

I think it's often poorly taught at an undergraduate level and would make a better graduate degree than undergraduate.

Doesn't go in depth at the undergraduate level. You look at cool stuff, but I don't really need a professor to guide me through this stuff, I can pick up the book and learn on my own.

>Art & Drawing

School is a shit place to learn these things.

This field is so cool. I'll probably pursue another undergraduate degree in it later on in life (I live in Canada, so this is fairly feasible for me).

So for starters, math makes a lot more sense than my other interests, but there is more to it than that. I love constructing rational arguments and solving problems. There is just a great satisfaction I get from doing it. If you don't understand why it's beautiful, it probably can't be explained to you.
