We might be brains in a vat. Occam's razor suggests we shouldn't assume that true. But what if William of Ockham was a brain in a vat himself that came up with his Razor theory that got him stuck in a catch 22 about his own existence.
If anything, quantum physics is demonstrating we are brains in a vat that have started to figure out the vat.

dont ever talk shit about ockam

it's almost like you can make up random, unknowable shit and easily get yourself stuff in a loop of useless, unfounded thought

I dont need Occams Razor to tell you're a faggot OP

Occam's razor could say it's true tho. Much simpler to imagine that the only things in existence are the world where the vat is (however that might be possible) and a computer powerful enough to simulate whatever amount of earth you've seen

isnt a skull a vat for a brain?

For you to be a brain in a vat, there must exist a race at least as intelligent as us who are putting brains in vats, ergo occam's razor would rule it out.
Occam's razor is a useful heuristic, but people here seem to treat it as some sort of dogma. Principles of economy are only one of the many concerns that must be taken into consideration when comparing theories and models.
