Can /sci/ solve this most complex problem?
>>
>>8892782
Crack the eggs and pour an equal volume of egg into each dingledoober.
>>
>>8892782

101100 1+2+3 , 3+3 = 6
010100
>>
>>8892799
not right
>>
Four in the middle, one balanced between those four.
>>
>>8892799
cant be done. not centred in y direction, and cant be
>>
pyramid
>>
>>8892809
or this
>>
>>8892790
kek, fpbp
>>
>>8892782

Depends on the weights of each of the eggs.
>>
It's mathematically impossible. Unless there's a 'trick' at which point it stops being a science problem and becomes retarded.
>>
>>8892782
1 0 1 0 1 0
0 0 1 0 0 1
>>
>>8892782
Next to the box.
>>
>>8892849
>>8892782

Can confirm this is only a solution in the horizontal component of the problem. It will be "heavier" on the "vertical" axis.

With 5 eggs, this question is actually rather difficult. More difficult than a simple net sum of Torque on both sides = 0.
>>
Turn the egg box upside down, what it's supposed that separates the eggs is the place they go in now.
>>
>>8892895
all these simpletons saying it's impossible then anon comes in with a simple (trivial, even) correct answer
>>
>>8892782
Put four in the middle; put the fifth wherever you want, as long as it isn't in the box
>>
>>8892811
This
>>
>>8892782
You eat all of the eggs and sit on the box
>>
>>8892782
smash the eggs and distribute them between four compartments.
>>
>>8892782
Isnt this just a simple torque problem?
Just put an egg at a distance one, two, and three spaces from the center on one side, them put two eggs at a distance of three on the other. The force of gravity on one side would then be 3F+2F+1F which is 6F on one side. Then the other side you have 3F+3F and then also have 6F. Problem solved. The only problem is that the center of gravity will shift toward the side with more eggs in the vertical plane, but the center of gravity will be in the middle of a horizontal plane.
>>
>>8893073
To follow up. Anther way of showing it would be this:

010 001
101 001

If we assume the lid is kept open and weighs enough to counterbalance the extra weight on the bottom, then perhaps we can have the weight in the "true" middle (in both the x and y plane)
>>
>>8892895
delet this
>>
>>8892782
balance them on the upward pointing sections
>>
000000
000000
>>
001110
100100
>>
>>8892790
Glad someone is on the job.
>>
this is bait

as long as there is an odd number of eggs and there is an even number of rows and columns it's impossible to balance it in terms of the stated premise of the question
>>
>>8892790
>you now have some dingledoobers with more yolk than white, and others with more white than yolk, making each dingledonger an unequal weight
How can you fail this hard? And what of the shells?
>>
>>8893559
grind the shells into a powder and mix everything together
>>
>>8892782
smash all the eggs on the fucking floor

box is now balanced
>>
>>8892871
post the answer then
>>
It's a bunch of complicated physics stuff but I think the jist is that two eggs should be in the furthest slot, and then 3 eggs should be on the opposite side but closer to the fulcrum so that they all have less influence on the center of gravity.

I don't know any fancy math stuff but here's this

Pressure P = Distance from Fulcrum D * Mass M. All the eggs have a mass of 1 so we can trash that

So if we visualize the egg box as an equation where the left side is the actual physical left side of the box and vice versa it might be that

4 + 4 = 3 + 3 + 2
8 = 8

Behold, the box is balanced. I think

This lecture sux
I wish you could balance the box front to back as well
>>
>>8893603
you wouldn't be able to close the box without deforming it, and if you have the lid open the center of gravity is off-center
>>
>>8893686
>>8893607
>>
>>8893081
that would mean that the weight is balanced along the x-axis, yes, but it wouldn't be centered along the y-axis.
Because 5 is an odd number and there are only two rows, it's literally impossible for it to be balanced along the y-axis.
>>
>23 posters
> not one has simply figured it out by using some eggs they should have in their fridge
>>
2 on each end, close the lid, place last egg on indent on the top(as shown in photo)

Place 4 eggs in the middle and the fifth one in between the four.

/thread
>>
Impossible with just two rows.

Now get one of those three row boxes, then it's interesting.
>>
>>8894756
it's impossible to position the center of gravity in the middle of the z-axis given the design of the box
QED
>>
>>8893686
OP didn't say you needed to close the box, just balance it. Of course OP was also vague enough that "middle" doesn't necessarily have to mean both X/Y axis.
>>
>>8894831
but that's what middle means
>>
>>8892782

Impossible.

There will always be a net vector leaning positive or negative in the y vector
>>
Scramble one egg and eat it. Place the rest evenly
