I also have an interest in data compression and instruction set architecture design which I might take a bit further than just as a hobby.

I noticed that there is a new "spring" in ISA designs, RISC-V is gaining momentum, Andes Tech did an IPO etc. And a good design must be founded on solid mathematical understanding.
