There is no different between a nuclear reaction and a nuclear explosion, it's just with a nuclear reaction it's in a controlled system, to stop it from outputting too much energy at once, as to be an "explosion". The sun is a continuous nuclear explosion/reaction.

"nuclear explosion" can be anything from a tiny bit of energy release to extreme amounts. It's simply breaking down the nucleus of an atom into other nuclei, which releases energy and particles (fission); or adding the nucleus of an atom to another nucleus, which again, releases energy and particles (fusion).

The sun produces most of it's heat and other emissions via nuclear fusion.

"nuclear explosion" isn't a measurement, it's a process.

The sun's energy output is 10^24 joules per second, or 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 joules per second.

The largest bomb we have ever detonated was 240,000,000,000,000,000 joules in one instance, one explosion.

The sun outputs far more energy in a single second, than our largest bomb (that being a nuclear bomb) did in it's entirety.
