Honestly, if you can find procedures online, that's all you really need for these sorts of things. Having a background in chemistry is important if you run into a problem and need to actually know what the fuck you're looking at so you can modify the procedure, or if you're trying to make up a procedure on your own. Otherwise you're basically just following a complicated cooking recipe. A lot of drugs can be synthesized using comparably simple chemistry procedures.

I don't know synths behind nootropics, might be pretty simple since a lot of them are based of gaba, dopamine, sertonin etc. LSD however is a asshole to make, more so because of the equipment needed.

For 125IQ you don't know much. Basic chem synths are no harder then baking a cake. Look into extracting DMT to get a feel for things. Then maybe move up to preforming an acid/base extraction on mescaline. Read TIHKAL if you're really interested in synthesizing LSD. I would probably do it if it wouldn't cost me ~1000$ for supplies and everything (plus it's illegal).
