order of operations is just shorhand using an established set of rules, it makes no difirince to the underlying math.

you can have 2 + (2 * 2) or (2 + 2) * 2 as valid expressions involving 3 numbers with addition and multiplication, we just agreed that we can leave the parentheses out around multiplication to prevent unesecary writing. It could have been other way around and there would be no difirnce.
