I compiled this list of techniques for maximum brain gains. Thoughts?

>Find a quiet place
>Take notes
>Identify what you need to know
>Run through the contents
>Ask questions about the topic you're learning about (Don't use Google, ask yourself)
>Memorize the concept, remind yourself of it the next day, then 10 days, then 30 days, then 60 days
>Study for 45 minutes, then take a 5 minute break, after a while slowly increase that to one hour
>Keep the room temperature warm
>Don't drink, smoke or do drugs
>Change the subject after your break
>Take a walk for your break
>Talk with people about the subject you are learning
>Learn how to apply the method of loci and major system for memorizing large amounts of information
>Use brain exercises such as n-back
>Listen to what you're learnng (if you're learning English, listen to BBC)
>Solve every problem, assignment and any tasks given to you by the textbook
>Sleep 8 hours and make sure you get the necessary amount of calories you need
>Always study with your peers
>Ask your tutor/professor with experience who can offer insight into the industry
>Watch lectures/videos on the topic you're learning

>don't forget to poop before an assesment

I wish someone had told it to me when I was younger. Wanting to shit does impact your cognitive abilities a lot.

Update on the list:
The Two Column Method
http://www.businessenglishhq.com/note-taking-techniques/
>>
>>8874686
Two column method: Write the information down into two columns. Like words on one side and definitions on the other. People on one side and their discoveries on the other. Or whatever the topics are. Then cover one side with a piece of paper and quiz yourself one question at a time.
>>
>>8874594
Rewriting method: Rewrite your notes. Then rewrite them again but skip the parts you know. That time it will be shorter. Repeat the process until your notes are widdled down to a page. Study that page.
>>
If you're using a computer to study, make a separate empty account with no distracting media in it.

How I do it. Inspired by a dude's technique I read here a while ago.

He did it with 3 notebooks, I do it with two + loose sheets of paper

>You sit down to study something new
>Your first notebook is for notes and general writing in order to understand the subject.
>It can contain long passages of text and problems with solutions

After you get the general idea:
>Get your second notebook/ loose sheets of paper
>Summarize what you have already written
>Skip most of the problems or maybe leave just the most important ones

After this step you will already know the material. To solidify your knowledge:
>Get your third notebook (I recommend a small like pic related)
>In it write just the key words/principles/formulas
>Just enough information to remind you of the rest

Once you've done all this tedious writing and rewriting and summarizing, you will basicly know the subject.
>To revise, just carry the third notebook with you at all times and read a few pages every now and then

I usually do that when I shit or when Im waiting for the bus or something mundane like that

Set 2 alarms the morning of finals

>iPhone alarm failed
>missed 0800 final back in 2014
>ended up with a C in gen phys 2

Yup, never gonna have that happen again
>>
>>8874761
>losing that precious exam time
>losing focus
>taking ages to shit because of stress
Yeah nice

Is studying with peers a meme?
>>
>>8875115
no?
>>
>>8875118
I feel I'm more productive on my own than with people. Either that, or I just can't find people on my level, most of the people I know are bad at the subject and don't even bother looking for help. The people who are good keep to themselves.
>>
>>8875132
I guess that's the case with some people. If people prefer independent study, then let it be that way
>>
>>8875025
>not setting your alarm for every 5 minutes

Are you trying to get people to drop out?
>>
>>8874761
>not wearing test-taking diapers
>not just pooping yourself and blaming the person to your immediate left
>not smell coding your diaper to remember answers for your tests

Step it up kids
>>
>>8875301
>not smell coding your diaper to remember answers for your tests
