Let's say right now it's 2PM and sunny. If you were to fast forward EXACTLY 6 months in the future, in theory you would be facing the opposite side of the sun (thus away from the sun), and it would no longer be sunny, despite being 2PM.

if the earth was moving in a straight line while rotating, after 24 hours the azumuths would not the be at the same angle. As we are revolving around the sun, our path is circular, so the length of the day is therefore dependent on our orbital velocity around the sun. It's just insignificant enough over a 24 hour period to be noticed, or even considred in the case of OP picture.

Revolution plays a role in the length in time of a day. A mean solar day is 24 hours, while a sidereal day is 23 hours, 56 min, 4 seconds. A sidereal day is how long it takes for the earth to rotate 360 degrees. Because the earth rotates in the same direction as it revolves, the 3 min 56 second difference is added to the sidreal day number for 24 hours. If the earth rotated in the opp. direction, the 3 min 56 seconds would be subtracted from the sidreal day time instead.

For a proof that revolution has an effect on the lenth of a day, imagine the earth didn't rotate, and instead completed a revolution around the sun every 24 hours. The length of a day would be 24 hours and 12pm would still be 12pm.
