I have a really serious problem with problem solving (heh), I got fucked on my calculus test even if I don't have problems doing the math, some people told me to solve physics problems, do you guys know something which would help ?

How?

Competitive programming. http://codeforces.com
work to understand why equations work and not just how to do them

Anon, test taking capabilities vary from person to person. It sounds like you're shit tier at proving you know what you're doing.
This is understandable, because test taking ability is a spectrum

My teacher said knowing how to do calculus is not that important for a cs student, so I didn't imagine my test would have some physics problems which had limits and graphing stuff.
I did most of stewart calculus book and still got fucked I can't believe it.

Wait, so you fucked up your calculus test in a cs course? Or you mean to tell me you didn't expect there to be calculus questions on your calculus test.
Dead lord up above...

Are you studying enough?
Also thats a lie, math is always useful for cs

nah, I expected question with proofs but the teacher said they only do those for math students, if anything I expected more calculus on it.
But I didn't fail it but I did study to ace and got a 6, I feel like I really don't understand math and only know how to follow formulas this is why i'm asking this question.

Example of what you were doing/what you don't understand?

Like the other guy said know how equation works and other stuff, I grew up with teachers who would give a bunch of problems and be done.
I feel like I should understand those concept more since just knowing formulas don't really cut it for college math.
I wish I had more time to go everything again and understand more about all math theory but having to do that and study for my classes is complicated.
