She's not crazy. This is just what love/obsession can do to people

>be part of first crew to do manned docking and external crew transfer
>have to fly reentry alone because all my crewmembers are on Soyuz 4
>deorbit and get set for reentry
>service module wont separate
>enter wrong way because spacecraft is more stable nose first, hang by the straps in seat as the plasma starts melting hatch
>finally, heat breaks the bolts, service module flies away, and capsule flips around
>later, coming in for landing
>chute lines are tangled, wont fully open
>thats fine, still have soft landing rockets
>landing rockets wont fire
>land hard, break all my teeth
>no ground crew to help me since missed target, land in urals during winter
>grab survival kit, get out and walk to a nearby house
>stay in the house of a farmer till ground crew tracks me down
>still get another flight years later

Valentina Tereshkova. First woman, russian, and communist.
None of them have been on the moon. This has been a charade from the beginning. But if I had to choose an astronaut I would have to say Virgil “Gus” Grissom. He kept shit real and was killed for it.
Grissom was greatly liked by his peers, was a strong character, and occupied a central position in the NASA space program. Many had predicted that it would be Grissom who would be the first to walk on the moon.
"But Grissom was also an outspoken critic of the program. Among his last words before he died, when there was a communications failure with the capsule just prior to the fire, were: “How are we going to get to the moon when we can’t communicate between two buildings?”

He also has the world record for sinking space capsules, which is impressive.
