what is the shape of the universe?
Approximately spherical.

Really? Quite elegant if it is so.
let "universoid" be the shape of the universe
now the answer to your question is "universoid"
>>8810533
prove it
>>8810529
Flat
>>8810574
I think the shape of the universe is circular, much like your reasoning
>>8810529
exactly a potato chip.
which potato chip? astronomers are still asking this question today
A polyhedronal mirror is one possibility. See Poincare.
>>8810533
Doesn't Planck data suggest the opposite?
>>8810529
like a Pringle, my good man
FLAT
>>8810599
>be in universe
>can only observe what's in your hubble sphere
>hubble sphere is a fuckin sphere
hmmmm
>>8810529
If that holography shit is correct, it is 2 dimensional.

according to all the most sophisticated tests made to measure for exactly that the answer so far is flat. But the accuracy of those measurements isn't good enough to rule out curvature that is extremely small.
my bets are on it being a sphere, or at least averaging to a shpere
>>8810743
Haha yes we don't even know how big it is let alone it's shape. All we can do is wildly guess from our local knowledge. Most of out guesses contain HUGE assumptions that what we are seeing in our Hubble sphere is similar to what we will see in the rest of the universe. Who fucking knows maybe the laws of nature we have discovered here on this tiny spot called earth are only this way here and in other far away areas of the universe there are drastically different ones. Assumption is the mother of all fuckups.
We're on the inside of a sphere. The universe is a bubble that expands in every direction.

Differs
Velociraptor.

>Universe is flat
>There are galaxies around us in every direction
You can't say something is 'flat' if it's a volume not a plane
>>8811698
to use your analogy... the 3 dimensional volume space is not curved. watch the video.
