I am very good at mathematics but trying to comprehend philosophical books is a nightmare.
I have trouble storing all those long sentences in my working memory and working on them.
Plus sometimes I don't get the whole point of an explanation and it's like grasping for air underwater.

Some degrees might be easier for a moron who doesn't care about the topic to get passing grades, but if you're at a university (and so have access to people and resources) there's no reason you can't put the work in and get good at whatever the hell you're studying.
It's not like the world is too small for someone to become an expert on something, just because it's not STEM.
