r8 my equation, /sci/
bonus internet points if you can prove it
Pretty b8 m8 Id r8 1/8

11/92 =/= 1
Literally first term is 1
the geometric series formula is[eqn]\sum_{n=0}^\infty r^n = \frac{1}{1-r} \quad \text{for}\ |r|<1,[/eqn]
so taking [math]r = 2^{-10} = 1/1024[/math], we get[eqn]\sum_{n=0}^\infty 2^{-10n} = \frac{1}{1-\frac{1}{1024}} = \frac{1024}{1023}.[/eqn]
no idea how you got an answer less than 1 when 1 itself is a summand. maybe you're just memeing?

oh wew nice typesetting there m8. What [math]\LaTeX[/math] font are you using?
>>8788316
computer modern ^_^
>>8788354
Nah, the captial sigma in computer modern is t h i c c e r
>>8788382
nah, its just a difference of line height
[math]
\text{This is Computer Modern}
[/math]

might want to change that n to n + 1

Rate my math thread?
made this OC today in a /tg/ thread

Nice going doing OP's homework for him
Bet way to get an answer is to post the wrong one and some autist will always come to correct it
