Are there any good science charities I can donate to?
One of my main motivations in life is scientific progress and breakthroughs, but I'm not nearly smart enough to be doing the work myself.

This should be motivating me to get wealthy, but I can't even do that.

dude it is motivating me like a motherfucker
do you mean you can't gain the motivation or you can't make the money in the first place
>>8775625
There is no such thing. I suppose you could dump your money on some universities science dept, but thats kinda idiotic.

Here's a good counter-example to your non-example: The Allen Institute was founded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. So there is definitely science-focused philanthropy.

what?
how can there be no such thing?
The idea that i could contribute to science through funding is keeping me from killing myself bro, someone please correct this man and tell me there is such a thing
Buy a company like spacex

this gave me an interesting thought
I couldn't do something like buy a spacex, because even if I had the money, I wouldn't have the scientific knowledge to know how to make a complex investment like that
but what if I just gave my money to E musk?
Not only is he smart enough to know where to put it, but he's philanthropic enough to actually do it right?

just call the society for neuroscience (SfN) or the american heart association (AHA). they will take your money and turn it into research results.
