Alternative energy

I'm interested in solar energy but I don't know much about it. A lot of it is going to waste

Nuclear energy is better than solar and wind you mong. Less death, 0 pollution, no accidents anymore, etc. Stop with this solar and wind crap. This is why you don't have a GF.

if you take it literally all energy is "alternative"
-coal is an alternative to wood
-solar is an alternative to wind

But if you look at history energy consumption is rising and new alternatives rarely replace old energy sources.
There is one example. Petrol really replaced whale oil.

Why do they call solar alternative power? Alternative to what? coal? Coal doesn't even produce energy. Its an energy storage medium, like a non-rechargable battery.

The alternative to coal is lithium ion, NOT solar.
