My theory is that a lot of it is people who came to /pol/ during the election and are now branching onto other boards. Basically, /pol/ is the new gateway board, like /b/ used to be.

/sci/ has some of the worst shitposting of any board I visit. popsci jokes, ironic popsci jokes, scientific illiteracy jokes, ironic scientific illiteracy jokes that require a phd in geology to understand, creationist threads, global warming threads, abortion threads, philosophy threads, race threads, threads with over 100 posts arguing about basic but nonintuitive physics problems, threads that have hit the bump limit just talking about /pol/, iq threads, and QM threads that end in "checkmate, atheists."

This board has some really nice gems, but the volume of shitposting is exceptional. Especially for a slower board.

- Simultaneously, mods are garbage-tier retards who just ban people prescriptively (e.g., for gore posts, porn posts) instead of reading the actual thread and deciding if it is "good" or not. If you make a dumb thread but you use proper punctuation, it will still be allowed.

By far, the biggest portion of shit-threads come from retards who post about their IQ or their university experience instead of about some topic. The mods are evidently not daft enough to realize the difference between these two classes of posts.
