3/4 = three fourths of a whole, but i can't visualize how.
2nd one is 1/4 times 3
1st one is 3/4 times 1
multiplication is associative
wow !
>>8751465
take an object, break it into equal fourths, and only keep 3 of them?
>>8751467
Commutative*
Op is an engineer.
>>8751467
>1st one is 3/4 times 1
3/4*4 not 3/4*1
>>8751438
does this help?
>>8751535
Soo, first one is 3/4*4 and second is 1/4*3?
>>8751566
it says what it is, just below the drawing
>>8751585
I'm talking about my pic, not yours :E
>>8751593
oh. Then yeah, you drew (3/4)*4, and (1/4)*3.
3/4 = .75 is the same as asking "how many times does 4 go into 3?" well 4 has 4 whole parts (1+1+1+1), and 3 of those go into 3 (1+1+1). that leaves 1 part of 4 that doesn't go into 3, i.e. 3/4 = .75
>>8751438
someone explain this to me.
Is he saying that 3/4 = 4*0.75?
>>8751622
No, i said the two pictures shows the same fraction but i couldn't see any correlation about them, but my mental lapse is now gone, thank you guys,
>>8751438
0.75*4=1.
0.25*4=??
0.75+0.25=??????
>>8752066
>0.75*4=1
wat
