mfw I got a comptetive post-doc position.
Boss wants analysis and results of upcoming experiments to be shared between a post-doc and student.
students there hate me, i got competitive postodc through luck and knowing ppl.
I'm not smart, students openly laugh at me.
gonna be me constantly shown up by student i'm paired with.
mfw i'm gonna be as mean and petty as i can be with student, because being scientist is all about being "collegial".

No wonder they hate you. If you know you're a brainlet, take advantage of the smarts around you. Make them find the solutions. Laugh off your errors, tell them you were testing them. Get some humor and stop taking yourself so seriously. I'll bet you really hate puns, too.
