Do you think they'll be able to pull it off?? Could this drastically change our world as we know it??

>Do you think they'll be able to pull it off??
They obviously won't.

Please don't post the racist frog here

Please go fuck yourself brainlet.

How do I downvote this post?

Tbh it will only make difficult calculations easier. So i only think that nasa or something like that would benefit from quantum computers
>>8729037
haha, that's funny.
>>8728911
>IBM
>Relevant to anything but the finance industry
>>8728911
No they won't be able to do it.
>>8729040
>So i only think that nasa or something like that would benefit from quantum computers
more like nsa
>>8728911
> IBM's quantum computer must be cooled to a fraction of a degree away from absolute zero, a temperature colder than outer space, so its innermost niobium and aluminum components aren't perturbed by outside influences.
So, no, you aren't going to be able to buy one of these for porn
they're gonna be pretty rich if they're selling them millions of times faster than anything else
>>8728911
>quantum computers
>millions of times faster
Ugh I hate popsci reporters.
>>8728911
quantum computers are a meme
>>8729118
you're a meme anon
i can see it now
>hundreds of thousands of brainlet gamers flock to this
>they have been told that quantum processors run faster than normal processors
>they stopped reading at that point
>90% of the quantum computers are sold to people who have no clue how they work or how to use them
>9% go to the NSA
>the remaining 1% goes to hobbyists and students
>quantum bitcoin mining software is sold to the 90% for millions of dollars
>an RSA cracker programmed in quantum visual basic is leaked from the department of defense
>the government tries to place restrictions on the sale and construction of quantum computers
I don't think we can miniaturize cooling equipment enough to make quantum computers viable for home/desktop applications. "Commercial" as in mass-produced, fridge-sized supercomputers, sure, but not for consumers.
>>8729070
decryption is conjecture. there isn't any programming structure to do that right now.
t. worked with DWave
What's D-Wave endgame? Scamming everyone with expensive fridges doesnt seem a long term strategy.
>>8728911
bull, will not happen for another 30++ years give or take.
>>8729183
That was exactly that argument made as to why computers would never be a consumer product, almost word for word.
>>8728911
ofc no, untill they make a base e computers viable
>>8729274
there is no reason to believe (partially due to the current understanding of thermodynamics) cryogenic refrigerators can be miniaturized.
an "induction" by "we were wrong in the past" is not an argument
Is IBM even still relevant?
>>8728911
If it can be used for quantum chemistry simulation, you can bet your ass it will. Faster quantum chemistry means we can discover new drugs and materials faster.
