Can someone debunk this?
More time spent studying = Better grades
Would it be instead
More time spent studying + IQ >130 = better grades
>>8712565
You mean
More time spent studying + IQ <130 = better grades
Studying is futile for me; I make high scores no matter what

See you in Ph. D. Maths

Grades don't necessarily correlate to abstraction ability, especially if we are talking about undergrad maths and science.
I'm a brainlet (109 iq) who is able to maintain a high GPA in electrical engineering by brute force. I crank out tons and tons of problems until I've covered any possible scenario that might appear on the test and get As. Often whilst I'm doing the problems I initially won't understand it until I've seen a solution that I can then recreate later on. I'd say I have a pretty good memory, so this might not work for all brainlets, but it does for me, proving grades =/= high iq, and vice versa.

Are you one of those eidactic memory retards. Literally on the other side of the autism spectrum of IQ fags.
>>8712657
Yeah that's me. People insist on calling me intelligent but I just happen to be more observant in class, so I don't forget non-trivial and important results even months later.
>>8712657
I wonder if that's me. I haven't taken an IQ test because I am a coward, Theoretical explanations will just wash over me, but once I see how to approach a problem I'll be able to do it and then apply it to other similar types of problem quite easily.
I usually score in the mid-high 70's on all my exams (pure math) for only doing one night of study. Curse of the eternal brainlet, if only I spent two days studying I might actually get an 80 someday.
>>8712565
Except at the spaz or godlike ends of the spectrum I don't think IQ can be relied on for grades.
So many other factors affect doing well in exams, study technique being one that springs to mind first.
>>8712565
Depends, really. I passed Maths after revising like twice, but failed Science even though I revised quite a bit.

Boy, /sci/ has really made you jaded.
Regardless of you intelligence, the more you study, the better will be your grades. If you are a brainlet, you'll always be a brainlet, but studying will raise your chances of getting a good grade. If you are smart, studying will still raise your grades.
For most people, hard work > intelligence. However, that changes if you are talking of 140+ IQ people. But they are a very small percentage of the population, so who cares?
