Two or three years ago they annouced lens that could make your vision 20/20 called Bionic lens.
Are they out in the market?
Dare I say...
20/20 by 2020?
Yeah, they're called contacts

fellow ambylopia anon here
I remember thinking that not seeing shit from one eye was normal when I was little. Unfortunately very few amblyopia people are cured by the standard "visual restriction of the good eye" treatment. I'm used to "living" and seeing through one eye only, I can't even imagine what it would be like to see from both clearly.

fucking Carlos
Wasn't this an actual corneal implant, and not simply a pair of contacts?

latest update June 2016, clinical trials for the mass-produced version still ongoing I guess

I once read that there was some eye training software/game/whatever that could improve the eyesight of even adults with amblyopia. Also apparently some antidepressants help your brain adapt more like a child's.
I should probably look it up someday... would be nice to see with both eyes.

I know the guy who made, he's a pretty cool guy and finds this current era to be a very good time to be alive.
