How are they supposed to fight?

via funding.

Polywell fusion
soviet technology tends to be shittier but since they both don't work it doesn't matter
>>8709273
we cant have you competing with coal and oil. the guys who bought the government wont let that happen.
>>8709439
This is literally what happened in the DoE in the 70s. Just lobbying. Try to tell people this and they think it's a conspiracy.
>>8709447
don't worry, only the idiots don't know that happened. so like almost everyone doesn't know.

Worked on a takomak but stellerators are the new thing (it's been shutdown since)
>>8709439
>we cant have you competing with coal and oil.
this isnt even close to the real reason that fusion was never funded.
the real reason is that if fusion becomes a reality and it gets miniaturized as was predicted then any random shithole country would eventually be able to make doomsday weapons at will.

Skellerator.
doot doot

How does owning a fusion power plant get you any closer to building any kind of "doomsday weapon"?
After all, if all you want is fusion you can do than in a garage with a thousand dollars. The hard and expensive thing is trying to produce useful power, which presumably isn't a concern for weapons construction.
