Although I suffer from this problem I don't think it's from being intelligent. I think what happens is that you develop an awareness of the unconscious detection of patterns, become interested in it, and develop this hyper awareness. Then you become interested in any topic deeply, because you now love patterns. What happens next is that you always border the line of insanity, and you physically or imagine that you painfully feel your brain processing millions of patterns. And as you go deeper into the maths and sciences you begin becoming crossing the border quicker and quicker...and then you just wait and hope for your day to never come.
