Is there a scientific reason why 99% of people never achieve true greatness in anything they do? Are some people just meant to be worker drones while a select few shape the world?
>>
There reason is simpler than science, it's just logic. Greatness is relative. It's rare by definition. If everyone else had down syndrome, you'd be a regular Einstein. If everyone on Earth were ten times smarter than Einstein, Einstein would be considered a retard.
>>
yes there is actually 99% of people are drones because the are brought up to be drones in the school where they teach you memorise shit but not how to actually think properly. Your pic related was mostly self taught which is why he achieved greatness.

Nope. Incorrect as usual. There is objective value to "greatness"

For example
99% of humans never produce any NEW scientific information. Nothing to do with relative stuff. Has to do what is considered scientific information.

Another example
Humans share pretty much identical brain size and muscle size (on a little larger scale). Still some humans manage to be thousands of times more efficient with them (like Usain Bolt, Donald Trump, Rihanna).

Theory discarded.

Greatness is relative, dum dum. You can't have everybody be the top 1%.

Why should your definition of greatness apply to me?

Greatness is an anomaly, if everyone was "great" no one would be.

So what, do you really believe you could take an average person and get them to discover general relativity? People aren't born equal. As for the question, in the OP, it's a matter of how you define greatness. In the general case >>8695839
is right

No not everyone obviously you have to be somewhat intelligent at birth and be smarter than the average person which isn't hard as you only need to be smarter than the bottom 50% of humans. Einstein thought differently and taught himself general relativity which wasn't even thought of at the time and he was lucky as he was correct and that's why he is famous and considered "great".

This may be controversial on here but look at Elon Musk he didn't do what 99% of other people would do after selling paypal and cash in and live like a king with all that money, he invested pretty much all of it into a rocket company where it almost failed and in a time where private space travel wasn't even considered realistic or even practical. Now he re uses rockets and has plans to send people to Mars by the hundreds, if he achieves this he will be considered great and he will have many haters on the way as did Einstein.

Unless all of were duplicates, it is only reasonable that people have degrees of intelligence.
Most people are unable to grow and mature without extensive external help.
So yes, basically grunts, gophers and paper-pushers.

It's this kind of thinking that limits us.

For one. No one man is really any kind of savant that revolutionizes the world on their own. Newton famously said "if I see further it is because I stand on the shoulder of giants." Human progress is a cumulative effort. You should instead be asking yourself why we develops cults of personality. The answer to that one is obvious.

Because of Western competitive thinking, and this idea of some magical kind of biological determinism, you believe a few people are innately better than others. However, this is just a just a justification we tell ourselves. "Survival of the fittest" is not a scientific term and was actually coined by an economist named Herbert Spencer.

Basically because we live in a society ruled by greed and competition, we like to invent ways to justify that competition.
