>there will never be another mission to Uranus or Neptune in your lifetime, unmanned or manned
>this is the best picture of Neptune you will see before you die
Feels bad man.
it's a pretty good pic and the planet has no use for humanity, what's the problem friend

They both have some bretty gud moons we might be able to do something with, someday.
But it true there are more interesting things closer that we'll have more use for sooner.
Still, nice to do some raw science again... I suppose it's likely there's not a whole lot more a cheap modern probe could tell us about them that would be surprising that the old ones haven't already told us, but as technology improves maybe that'll change.
Also, figuring out what the hell happened to Uranus to knock it on its side so badly, might be wise.
There's also apparently another mass the size of Neptune out there we should visit - if we ever manage to find the damned thing.

There will be, someday, assuming we get off the rock. Just in your lifetime.
I mean, even we launched one today, depending on how old you are, you might not get to see the results.

>Just in your lifetime.
*not in your lifetime...
...I keep dropping critical words when I'm tired.
There could still be flybys for gravity assists

Didn't Hubble take some nice pics of those two?
Won't Webb take some nicer pics?
>>8695295
Not sure how old you are, but there's a good chance of some new pics in the late 2030's or early 2040's if this launches in 2034

mfw I will never visit an Ice Giant I actually want to kill my self too OP you're not alone. mfw Uranus and Neptune are actually unironically the comfiest planets in the Sol system.

NASA will just shop the black and white photos and give them colour probably and exaggerate a little.
