Why are Limits called Limits /sci/? Limit generally implies a maximum or minimum reach of an object, but the limit in maths is absolutely not that. In fact when we read lim x-> 0 we tend to read it as x approaches zero, so why is "app." or something along that not a better notation for limits?

a limit if
>a point or level beyond which something does not or may not extend or pass
you (usually) take the limit of f at x because f does not exist at x, so you take the definition of f for x > 0 beyond its limits to x = 0.

lim is short for limes, not limit.

Who cares about a word. You can call math words whatever you like. As for me, I call every mathematical object "cuck". My editor tells me that is going to make it really hard to get through my set theory book, for release next summer, but I do as I always do and call him the fucking cuckfaggot he is.

RPG is short for "Anti-Tank Grenade Launcher" in Russian, not "Rocket Propelled Grenade".

Anon, in complex analysis how do you prove that a cuck is cuck-connected?
