I've been awake for 10 days straight and an idea has crossed my mind:
What if we exploit the rotation of the earth to generate energy? There has to be a way to do that, right?
I probably am not the first one to think about this but I still thought it'd be a nice topic to discuss.

Go to sleep dude
>>8677719
it's like the third thread on this in a week.
You sure you didn't read that and forget?

I never come to /sci/, I was even debating whether I should post this here or not
>>8677719
Does the earth's rotary momentum possess infinite energy then? Or do you think that, perhaps, your proposal will eventually bring the planet to a standstill?
Seriously, I had this exact same idea when I was about 8. Then I grew up and learned a thing or two.

Rotation is relative you dumbass

I doubt this. If it is nonsense, I cannot relate to why you'd write what is not true. I mention this because reporting fake data is part of the reason so many people are confused: and this helps no one but the dangerous people. Not being one of the dangerous people, I am rather personally involved in enlightening others.

Wouldn't work, because the earth is flat.

fucking lol good point, swear this god damn thread has been posted every day for the past week

No you haven't.

Honestly wouldn't mind having a few extra hours in a day.
I think it's a good idea.
The engineering might be a bit difficult though.
